Instrumentation and measurement are currently the markets with the greatest potential for the future. The concept of predictive maintenance drives this area, as one of the core requirements of industry 4.0 is to take a proactive approach to machine maintenance to keep downtime as low as possible. This method provides for the collection of process-relevant measurement data. For efficiency and cost reduction reasons, efforts would be made to optimise maintenance, since minimizing downtime also shortens the amortization period for the investment in the machinery.
