Circuit protection

Circuit protection

We offer you a wide selection of circuit protection components. The circuit breaker is a type of electrical switch designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by overcurrent , overload, or short circuit. Its basic function is to interrupt current flow after protective relays detect a fault. We also offer fuses and circuit breakers whose primary role in a circuit is to protect personnel and equipment when dangerous overcurrents occur. A surge protector protects against lightning strikes or any power surges. A varistor is a very strongly non-linear electrical resistance component, used today mainly to make lightning arresters. TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) diodes are semiconductor electronic components. They are designed to protect sensitive electronics from high-voltage transients. Thus, they act as surge suppressors. They are commonly called Transil Diodes, named after the technology invented by STMicroelectronics. We also offer the PTC resettable fuse (or polyfuse) which is a passive electronic component used to protect against overcurrent faults in electronic circuits. Finally, we offer the thermal cutoff fuse, made of a hot-melt material that has the property of melting or thinning when subjected to high heat. Example: Candle wax is made of a hot-melt material. Among other circuit protection components, we also offer ESD suppressors and gas discharge tubes.
